Wrongful death lawsuit settles for 6.5 Million

The City of Chicago approved a $6,500,000 settlement of a lawsuit which stemmed from the death of a boy (8 years old) and a head injury to an eleven year old girl. The children were crossing the street and were hit by a police vehicle. The police officer driving the car said he was in pursuit with lights on after seeing robery being committed. The attorneys for the children agrued that the office was acting in wanton disregard for the health and safety of the public.
